Each year, the Houston Minority Supplier Development Council (HMSDC) conducts its Scholarship Fundraising Golf Tournament at Black Horse Golf Club in Cypress, Texas. The Scholarship Fundraiser is a fun annual event held to raise funds to underwrite high-quality developmental experiences for minority business owners. For the past decade, HMSDC and its member companies and supporters have raised approximately $65,000 towards developmental programs for minority business enterprises (MBEs).

Since the event's inception, HMSDC has awarded 752 scholarships, which signifies over $1.7 million awarded in minority business scholarships! With ExxonMobil Corporation as the title sponsor, we are expecting more than 200 participants in the tournament representing global corporations, large prime contractors, and minority business owners.

Corporate members and their primes participate in the Scholarship Fundraiser in order to show their community support for minority business development and network with MBE potential suppliers in a relaxed environment. MBEs are able to play and network with potential clients to build relationships, discuss their capabilities and explain why they should be considered as a valued member of their supply chains.

You do not have to be a member to participate – you just have to support the mission to grow and develop minority-owned businesses!
