The Tournament is still on and we will be monitoring it closely as health and safety are of paramount importance to us. We will move indoors if it rains. The event will not be cancelled unless there is lightning on the course.

Whether you're an avid golfer or just looking to jumpstart your business development initiatives, you won't want to miss this year’s Scholarship Fundraiser.

Each year, the Houston Minority Supplier Development Council (HMSDC) conducts its Scholarship Fundraising Golf Tournament at Black Horse Golf Club in Cypress, Texas. The Scholarship Fundraiser is a fun annual event held to raise funds to underwrite high-quality developmental experiences for minority business owners. For the past decade, HMSDC and its member companies and supporters have raised approximately $65,000 towards developmental programs for minority business enterprises (MBEs).

Since the event's inception, HMSDC has awarded 752 scholarships, which signifies over $1.7 million awarded in minority business scholarships! With ExxonMobil Corporation as the title sponsor, we are expecting more than 200 participants in the tournament representing global corporations, large prime contractors, and minority business owners.

Corporate members and their primes participate in the Scholarship Fundraiser in order to show their community support for minority business development and network with MBE potential suppliers in a relaxed environment. MBEs are able to play and network with potential clients to build relationships, discuss their capabilities and explain why they should be considered as a valued member of their supply chains.

You do not have to be a member to participate – you just have to support the mission to grow and develop minority-owned businesses!

About Us

HMSDC is a vital link between major corporations and minority business enterprises (MBEs). Each year, member corporations have reported billions of dollars spent with Council-certified Minority Business Enterprises. Serving the Houston region, the Council is one of the 23 regional affiliates of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. (NMSDC).

The Houston Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. (The Council™), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, identifies minority suppliers; certifies bona-fide minority business enterprises; and facilitates procurement opportunities between major purchasing entities and Council-certified minority suppliers. That supplier group includes Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native-American businesses located throughout the Texas Gulf Coast area. The Council’s membership consists of Fortune 500 corporations, government agencies, educational institutions and non-profit organizations.
